IBM Sametime has long been a favourite here at Blue Sky. Now Sametime has been the focus of same TLC that HCL has shown to the Notes/Domino platform. They’ve just announced the release of Sametime 10 Limited Use – and it’s still available free of charge to Notes/Domino customers on active maintenance! Version 10 has some great new features – here’s our pick of the top 5!

Supported on 64-bit Domino Server – which means you can finally retire those 32-bit Domino servers that needed to be deployed to provide Sametime services.

Serve-side chat history – essential for regulatory and compliance purposes.

Mobile device and browser support – with the new lightweight web client, you will no longer be required to install a browser plug in!

Persistent Chat – maintain your individual or group conversation across multiple devices, even when disconnected.

Simplified installation and administration – whilst in this release you will still need to deploy WebSphere components for mobile and web access, the goal is to remove this requirement.
