Situation

The Performance Management Group (TPMG) was founded in 1994 with a clear focus on exploiting emerging technologies to bring the performance management process to life. At the time, Lotus Domino had clear advantages for the provision of services to clients using Lotus Notes, such as Ernst & Young and SBC Warburg. It soon became apparent that a key client requirement was for 360 degree feedback as part of their performance management and development strategies. TPMG’s concern was that their prospective clients did not always have the internal HR or IT resources to run such high profile and sensitive projects as feedback systems for their top people. And, of course, only a small proportion of their market used Lotus Domino.

Solution

Hosting arrived at a perfect time for TPMG for three reasons: first they needed expertise and resources to access the internet; second, they needed to reach non-Domino clients via the web to expand their market; and third, TPMG needed close and trusting relationships with their clients to ensure they received a top quality service via TPMG software. Blue Sky was their preference as a business and hosting partner, given Blue Sky’s reputation in the Managed Domino Hosting field. 2001 saw TPMG move to hosting and, with Blue Sky’s help, were soon to reach a new type of client, for whom the name Domino meant nothing other than an emerging brand of pizza. We quickly established a very effective partnership, based on TPMG’s own internal software development expertise and Blue Sky’s hosting capabilities. By 2007, TPMG deepened this relationship by moving away from co-location to a managed solution where Blue Sky managed the entire environment, including hardware, connectivity, security and software right up to the application layer.

Now with thousands of users and clients in 6 continents using their software in up to 8 different languages 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, TPMG is a leader in the provision of 360 degree feedback, online appraisal and talent management solutions.
